This card can be crafted for a dear friend who has moved to a new house recently. You can send the card by mail or give it during a housewarming party which is even more fun 😀
Moving into a new house is something very special. You only do it a few times in your life. Bit by bit, this new house becomes your home.
A friend of me recently got her very own house. I’m so happy for her! 😀 She’s put a lot of effort in making it her home with her own style. Recently she organized a housewarming party, so I made her this card.

Photo instructions
In this photo tutorial you’ll learn step by step how to create this New home card.
Step 1: Take a sheet of white paper and fold a small part of it. Draw a half heart shape in the fold and cut it out with a scissors. Then unfold the heart shape, you can do this gently with a roundish tool like a scissors.
Step 2: It’s time to draw some more, a little bit technical now 😉 Take a colored blank card and unfold it. Use a pencil and ruler to draw a roof, chimney, door and window. Grab the heart shape and put it on the door. Now trace the shape with a pencil.
Step 3: When you’re happy with the result, you can use a craft knife to cut out the shapes. Keep in mind not to cut out the left door side. Remove visible pencil traces with an eraser.
Step 4: Turn the card around and then put double-sided adhesive tape on the card inside. Choose a nice patterned cardstock and stick it on the card inside. Remove the excess cardstock carefully with a craft knife.
Step 5: Now it’s time to decorate the chimney a bit. Take a sheet of white paper and draw a smoke shape on it. Note: Keep in mind that the card should fit in an envelop, so the smoke shape shouldn’t be that big. Then cut it out with a scissors or craft knife.
Step 6: Attach the smoke shape to the backside of the chimney and your card is ready!
