Step 1: Stamp the text “You are my missing piece” onto the bottom area on the card front. You can use any kind of alphabet stamps (I prefer clear stamps). Use a black ink pad to ink your stamps well. Then take a blank card and unfold it. Carefully stamp the text on the card front.

Step 2: Now it’s time for the heart shape. Put a sheet of white paper on top of the card front, above the stamped text. It’s good if the white paper appears a bit transparent. Now take your pencil and draw a square where the heart shape must fit in. Cut out the square with a scissors.

Step 3: Fold the square shape in half. Draw a half heart shape with a pencil on it and cut it out with a scissors. Note: If you’re not happy with your heart shape, you could create some more heart shapes and see which one you like best.

Step 4: Unfold the heart shape and place it on a sheet of red paper. Trace the heart shape with a pencil.

Step 5: Look for a puzzle piece in your home. Put it in the middle of the red heart and trace it with a pencil. If you don’t have a puzzle, you can draw a puzzle piece instead. There are plenty puzzle images available on the web 😀

Step 6: Take a scissors and cut out a square shape around the red heart. This will make it easier to cut out the heart with a craft knife in the next step. Otherwise you’ll need to rotate the large sheet of paper all the time, which is not handy.

Step 7: First cut out the puzzle piece shape with a craft knife. For this step you can use a small cutting mat, which can be easily rotated to cut properly. Remove remaining pencil traces with an eraser. Then cut out the heart shape itself.

Step 8: Turn the heart shape around and put 3 pieces of 3D foam pads on the backside of it.

Step 9: Attach the heart shape to the card front and voilà, your card is ready!
