A heart is the ultimate symbol of love. This heart is full of love, just like the butterflies you feel in your stomach when you’re in love. You can make this card for the one you love so much, for Valentine’s Day or any other romantic occasion.
This is actually my very first shaker card. I’ve “discovered” shaker cards some time ago on Youtube and thought it would be nice to create one by myself. It reminds me of snow globes which are pretty awesome!

Step 1: Fold a sheet of white paper in half and draw a half heart shape on it. Note: keep in mind that it should fit on your card front when it’s unfolded.
Step 2: Cut out the heart shape with a scissors.
Step 3: Unfold the heart shape and put it on the card front. Then trace it with a pencil.
Step 4: Once you’ve traced the heart, you can cut it out with a craft knife. I use a smaller cutting mat, to be able to turn the heart around while cutting it out. Remove pencil traces with an eraser.
Step 5: Take a sheet of plastic and cut out a square that’s slightly larger than the heart shape itself. If you don’t have a sheet of plastic, you could use a part of a zipper bag or plastic pocket instead.
Step 6: Put double-sided adhesive tape on all sides of the plastic sheet. Then attach the sheet to the card front, on top of the heart shape.
Step 7: Stick foam tape along all sides of the card front.
Step 8: Take at least two sheets of different colored paper (for example light pink and bright pink). Don’t use red paper, because that will be the background color of your heart shape. Then use a heart punch to create a lot of small hearts. About 25, 30 hearts of each color.
Step 9: Mix the colorful hearts together.
Step 10: Before putting the small hearts onto the card front, you may want to clean the plastic sheet with a small cleaning cloth.
Step 11: Then put the small hearts on the card front and spread them a bit.
Step 12: Remove the foil from the foam tape and put a sheet of red cardboard or paper on the card front.
Step 13: Remove the excessive paper with a craft knife or scissors. Just do what works best for you.
Step 14: Your shaker card is ready now for a lovely message. For example, you could include a love quote on the inner red card side and your personal message on the inner white card side. Good luck!
This looks like so much fun to make! When I saw the picture, it immediately reminded me of a snow globe. This one just fits through a mailbox 😉 The video is very relaxing to watch too, because of the music and your calming voice, haha.
