It’s always such a magical thing. The moment when the birthday cake is brought to the living room. Family and friends start to sing a birthday song. The candle lights happily dance on the melody. At the end of the song, you make a wish and blow out the candles. Craft this chocolicious birthday cake (mmm!) card and relive the moment.

Photo instructions
Step 1: Cut out a square from the card’s front side with a craft knife and a ruler. The border should be 0.8 inch (2 cm).
Step 2: Use a pen / stamps to write the text “Make a wish” on the card’s border.
Step 3: Cut out a rectangle tabletop shape from a sheet of light brown paper. The measurements are 4.33 inch (11 cm) width, 1.2 inch (3 cm) height.
Step 4: Draw wood grains with a brown pencil on the tabletop shape to make it look realistic.
Step 5: Attach the tabletop shape to the inside of the card frame by using glue or tape. The visible height should be 0.8 inch (2 cm).
Step 6: Draw a cake shape on a piece of dark brown paper and cut it out. The height should be 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), the width 2.2 inch (5.5) cm.
Step 7: Put the cake shape on a piece of dark brown paper and trace it with a pencil. The height should be a little less: 0.5 inch (1.3 cm). Cut this shape out too.
Step 8: Create a pink cream layer of the same width and a height of 0.4 inch (1 cm).
Step 9: Put the top cake shape on a piece of white paper. Draw a fitting cake topping around it with a pencil. Then cut it out.
Step 10: Attach the two cake shapes + cream + topping to each other. The cream should have a height visibility of 0.12 inch (0.3 cm)
Step 11: Cut out 5 party candles from sheets of colored paper.
Step 12: Draw small diagonal stripes on the party candles with color matching pencils.
Step 13: Also cut out flame shapes to make the party candles complete, from yellow paper. Color the inner part with an orange pencil.
Step 14: Sticky time! Attach the party candle parts onto each other, then onto birthday cake and finally onto the tabletop shape.
Step 15: Pick a cheerful color or scrapbook paper and attach it to the card inside as a background. Use glue or adhesive double sided tape to do the job.
Step 16: Remove the excess paper with a craft knife or scissors. Your card is ready now!
Such a cute design, again! The steps are really easy, but the result looks like much effort was put into it.
