Photo instructions
Step 1: Draw a picture frame on the card’s front side. Make sure the pencil lines are very thin, so you can easily remove them later.
Step 2: Draw a human shape, starting from the bottom side of the frame. Draw a head and upper body part which are attached to each other.
Step 3: Cut out the inner area of the picture frame with a craft knife. Remove all visible pencil lines.
Step 4: Grab the waste card paper. Cut out two paper stripes of 1.6 inch (4 cm) x 0.2 inch (5 mm).
Step 5: Take the red & blue colored paper sheets and cut out two paper stripes of 1.6 inch (4 cm) x 0.1 inch (3 mm).
Step 6: Glue a red & blue paper strip on both sides of a white paper strip. Do this also with the other white paper strip.
Step 7: Put both strips upside down on the card’s front side. Measure where they should appear on the human shape (shoulder) and make the strips come together like a V shape. Attach these two parts by gluing them together or use sticky tape.
Step 8: Cut off the edges a bit to make it look realistic.
Step 9: Cut out a small bowl, a bar and a big circle (the medal) from a sheet of yellow colored paper and glue them together.
Step 10: Glue the medal onto the ribbon shape.
Step 11: Cut off the ribbon paper which is standing out on the shoulder parts.
Step 12: Take a sheet of colored paper (your dad’s favorite color) and put the card’s backside on top of it. Draw a border around it with a pencil, so you can estimate the card’s measurements.
Step 13: Draw number ones or stars in the area with a pencil. To make them all look the same, you could make a template, cut it out and trace it with a pencil several times.
Step 14: Cut out the drawn shapes and glue the sheet to the card inside (or use double-sided adhesive tape).
Step 15: Cut off the excess paper and your card is ready! Happy Father’s Day!
