When your birthday is drawing near, people start asking for your wish list. It may be hard to come up with something, because you already have so much stuff. You could ask for a gift card of your favorite store. But still, it’s a piece of flat plastic / paper. A birthday gift can be so much more exciting and meaningful! 😀
It’s nice to give away an experience as a birthday present. To do something fun with your friend. Go shopping, watch a movie in the cinema or have an afternoon tea together!
After following the steps of this tutorial, you do give the birthday boy / girl a voucher in fact. But you wrap it up in an original way by putting it in or attaching it to an object which is part of the experience. To invite him/her to an afternoon tea, you could use a teapot for example.

Instructions – step by step
Step 1: Buy a teapot from a cheap store / second-hand shop. I got this teapot for just €3.
Step 2: Cut out three pieces of paper: tea label, tea bag wrapper, voucher.
Here are the measurements:
Tea label: 0.78 x 1.57 inch (2 x 4 cm)
Tea bag wrapper: 2.17 x 5.5 inch (5,5 x 14 cm)
Voucher: 3.14 x 4.7 inch (8 x 12 cm)
Step 3: Fold the tea label in half. Also fold the tea bag wrapper, along its width: first after 0.78 inch (2 cm), then after 2.6 inch (6,5 cm)
Step 4: Use pens and (colored) pencils to decorate the paper pieces. Write a nice text on the voucher to let your friend know you’ll treat him/her an afternoon tea.
Step 5: Fold the voucher twice. Once vertically and once horizontally.
Step 6: Turn the tea bag wrapper around, so you’ll be facing the inner side. Put double-sided adhesive tape / glue along the borders of the middle area and “close” the tea bag wrapper by folding it.
Step 7: Cut a thread of 8.26 inch (21 cm).
Step 8: Put double-sided adhesive tape / glue on the inner side of the tea label. Put the piece of thread onto it and then fold the tea label to “lock it”.
Step 9: Attach the other side of the thread to the inner side of the tea bag wrapper by using a piece of tape / sticker.
Step 10: Now put the voucher into the tea bag wrapper.
Step 11: Put the tea bag wrapper inside the teapot. Make sure the tea label is sticking out at the teapot’s side. You can eventually attach it with a little piece of double-sided adhesive tape on the backside of the label.
Step 12: Put the teapot in a present box or wrap it carefully in wrapping paper. Your present is ready now! Have a wonderful & delicious afternoon tea 😀 yum yum!
